Auburn Men’s Cross Country Finishes Third, Women Fourth At Tiger Invitational

The Auburn men’s cross country team finished in third place and the women placed fourth at the Tiger Invitational held at Indian Pines Golf Course Saturday morning. Sophomore Felix Kiboiywo finished fifth in the men’s race to lead the Auburn contingent, while freshman Hollie Knight was the Tigers’ top finisher in the women’s race, placing seventh.

Volleyball Battles In 3-1 Loss To No. 22 LSU

The Auburn volleyball team (8-7, 1-4 SEC) blazed out of the gates to take its first game win off a ranked team, but could not hold on as No. 22-ranked LSU (12-2, 4-1 SEC) held on to win the match, 3-1.

Tiger Women Win SEC Opener, Down Kentucky 4-1

AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn opened the SEC season up in style as they defeated Kentucky. Gabi Rivera, Caitlyn King, Becca Howell and Jenni Prescott all scored goals for the Tigers as they defeated the Wildcats 4-1.

Former Auburn All-American Golfer Danielle Downey Tied For Fifth At Navistar LPGA Classic

Former Auburn three-time All-American Danielle Downey opened the first-ever Navistar LPGA Classic firing 4-under 68 and is tied for fifth. Downey will return to action on Friday from RTJ Golf Trail at Capitol Hill in Prattville, Ala., at 12:30 p.m.

The Auburn volleyball team (9-6, 1-3 SEC) continues its four-match homestand this weekend with matches against No. 22 LSU and Ole Miss. Auburn and LSU (11-2, 3-1 SEC) will face off Friday at 7 p.m. while Ole Miss (12-3, 2-2 SEC) comes to town Sunday for a 1:30 p.m. matchup.

About Auburn University

Auburn University (AU or Auburn) is a state university located in Auburn, Alabama, USA. With more than 23,000 students and 1,200 faculty, it is the largest university in the state, and according to U.S. News & World Report, has a selectivity rating of "more selective." Auburn was chartered on February 1, 1856, as the East Alabama Male College, a private liberal arts school affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. The college was donated to the state of Alabama in 1872, when it became the state's public land-grant university under the Morrill Act and was renamed the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama. In 1892, the college became the first four-year coeducational school in the state. The college was renamed the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (API) in 1899. In 1960, its name was officially changed to Auburn University, as it had long been popularly known. Auburn is one of only 13 American universities designated as a land-grant, sea-grant, and space-grant research center.
