Friday Night’s Celebrity Home Run Derby To Highlight Orange-Blue World Series Week

The Auburn baseball team will wrap up its fall practices this week with the Orange-Blue World Series beginning on Tuesday afternoon. The week will close with the Fourth Annual Celebrity Home Run Derby on Friday night at 6pm CT to raise money for the Lee County Boys and Girls Club.

Auburn-Georgia Football Game To Air On CBS

The Auburn football game on Nov. 10 at Georgia in Athens, Ga., will be televised by CBS Sports, the Southeastern Conference announced Monday. Kickoff is slated for 2:30 p.m. CT.

Antonio Coleman Named SEC Defensive Lineman Of The Week

Auburn sophomore defensive end Antonio Coleman has been named the Southeastern Conference’s Defensive Lineman of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Coleman was honored following Auburn’s 17-3 victory over Ole Miss Saturday.

Auburn celebrates its Homecoming Saturday by taking a break from the Southeastern Conference schedule to host its last nonconference game of the season against Tennessee Tech. Auburn will be looking for its fourth straight home victory, while the Golden Eagles, a member of the Football Championship Subdivision, will be out to snap a four-game losing streak.

Women’s Golf Finishes Second At UA-Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate; Cydney Clanton Ties For Fourth

The Auburn women’s golf team shot 9-over 293 to conclude the UA-Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate in second place, improving three spots from Saturday. Freshman Cydney Clanton turned in her third top-five finish of the season as she tied for fourth.

With a five-game Southeastern Conference run behind them, the Auburn football team returned to the practice fields Sunday in preparations for a non-conference game against Tennessee Tech. The Tigers went 4-1 over the last five contests against SEC opponents, including a 17-3 win over Ole Miss at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday evening.

After losing the first game of the match, the Auburn volleyball team (11-14, 3-11 SEC) rallied back to pick up wins in the next three games for a 3-1 (22-30, 30-25, 30-24, 31-29) win over Tennessee (9-13, 4-10 SEC) on Sunday.

Brandon Cox threw a 34-yard scoring pass to Rod Smith in the final minutes and Brad Lester rushed for a career-high 96 yards, helping No. 23 Auburn hold on for a 17-3 win.

The Auburn men’s and women’s teams each took sixth place at the SEC Cross Country Championships in Lexington hosted by the University of Kentucky. The Tigers also had two runners selected to the All-SEC teams.

Former Auburn football player D. Gaines Lanier will be presented the 2007 Walter Gilbert Award at halftime of the Tigers’ game against Ole Miss at Jordan-Hare Stadium Saturday.

Auburn University (AU or Auburn) is a state university located in Auburn, Alabama, USA.
