Andkjaer Wins 50m Free In Opening Day Of Alabama Classic

Junior Jakob Andkjaer led Auburn in the first day of the Alabama Classic, taking first in the 50m free with a time of 22.47, leading a group of four Auburn swimmers that finished in the top five of their respective events on Friday.

Solon and Martha Dixon Foundation give $950,000 to AU School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences

AUBURN - The Solon and Martha Dixon Foundation has contributed $950,000 to Auburn University’s School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences to help fund additional dormitories at the Solon Dixon Forestry Education Center.

Auburn Takes On George Washington Sunday

The Auburn basketball team (3-1) returns from a 13-day layoff to play George Washington in the BB&T Classic in Washington, D.C.’s Verizon Center Sunday at 1:30 pm Central. The tripleheader also includes Maryland vs. VCU and George Mason vs. East Carolina.It is the first of two-straight high-profile games for the Tigers, who play West Virginia in the Pizza Hut Big East/SEC Invitational Wednesday in Birmingham’s BJCC Arena. The Auburn-George Washington game will be televised by FSN South and MASN and can be heard on The Auburn ISP Sports Network, www.auburntigers.com and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 146.

Auburn University (AU or Auburn) is a state university located in Auburn, Alabama, USA. With more than 23,000 students and 1,200 faculty, it is the largest university in the state, and according to U.S. News & World Report, has a selectivity rating of "more selective." Auburn was chartered on February 1, 1856, as the East Alabama Male College, a private liberal arts school affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. The college was donated to the state of Alabama in 1872, when it became the state's public land-grant university under the Morrill Act and was renamed the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama.
