SEC Indoor Track And Field Championships Underway

The SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships kicked off Friday with the women’s pentathlon and the first day of the men’s heptathlon. It was a light day of action for Auburn, with just one student-athlete competing.

Auburn’s Comeback Falls A Run Short In 6-5 Loss To No. 11 Florida State

Scott Shuman retired the final 14 hitters he faced and Auburn had the tying run on first with one out in the ninth but could not bring it home as Auburn’s three-run, ninth-inning rally came up short in a 6-5 loss to No. 11 Florida State on Friday afternoon.

Auburn Football Practice Report

On the eve of its first scrimmage of Spring drills, the Auburn football team worked for nearly two hours Friday on the Athletic Complex practice fields. The 20-period session was primarily dedicated to position drills with minimal full team work, as nearly 600 high school coaches looked on. Auburn held its annual coaching clinic Thursday and Friday.

Women’s Tennis Captures First Conference Win 4-3 Over Arkansas

The No. 29 Auburn women’s tennis team (8-2, 1-0 SEC) captures its first conference win 4-3 over the No. 26 Arkansas Lady’Backs (7-5, 0-1 SEC) in Fayetteville, Friday. Whitney Chappel clinched the match for Auburn and sophomore Fani Chifchieva extended her winning streak to nine matches with her win over No. 2 Aurelija Miseviciute.

Auburn Men’s Golf Team & Cheerleaders Participate In Read Across America Day

Five members of the Auburn men’s golf team and assistant coach Ryan Cabbage as well as 10 Auburn University Cheerleaders served as guest readers during Auburn Early Education Center’s annual “Read Across America Day” Friday.

No. 35 Men’s Tennis Opens SEC Play With 5-2 Win Over No. 63 Arkansas

The No. 35-ranked Auburn men’s tennis team (5-3, 1-0 SEC) defeated No. 63 Arkansas (7-5, 0-1 SEC) for the second straight year Friday, a feat neither team has been able to pull off since 1999. The Tigers defeated Arkansas 5-2 to start SEC play with a win for the second year in a row.

Women’s Basketball Celebrates Three Seniors Sunday At 2 PM Vs. Arkansas

Auburn (18-10, 6-7 SEC) will honor senior’s Tamela McCorvey, Alexis Ogubie and Juanitta Wallace on Sunday prior to the start of the 2 p.m. game vs. Arkansas (17-11, 2-11 SEC). The first 500 fans will receieve an Auburn women’s basketball trading card set. All fans who donate two or more non-perishable food items will receive free admission. Fans can also listen to the game live on 96.7 FM.

No. 12 Auburn Men’s Golf To Open Play In Seminole Intercollegiate

The No. 12 Auburn men’s golf team will compete in its second tournament of the spring season March 2-4 in the Seminole Intercollegiate at the par 72, 6,965-yard Golden Eagle Country Club Course in Tallahassee, Fla.

Auburn Hosts South Carolina Saturday

The Auburn men’s basketball team (14-12, 4-9) plays host to South Carolina (12-15, 4-9) Saturday at 5 pm Central in Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum. Auburn senior Quan Prowell has been phenomenal since Jan. 26 as he is leading the SEC in scoring (20.2) and 3-point field goal pct. (.500, 23-of-46) and is second in field goal pct. (.576, 68-of-118) with a minimum of 8 attempts per game.

Auburn Falls to No. 23 Vanderbilt

The Auburn women’s basketball team (18-10, 6-7 SEC) fell 73-56 to No. 23 Vanderbilt (21-7, 10-3 SEC) on Thursday in Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum. Freshman forward Cassie Moore dominated the boards, turning in a career high 12 rebounds to lead Auburn.

Sanders Drives In Three In 7-5 Loss To No. 11 Florida State

Joseph Sanders swung a solid stick on Thursday night, driving in three runs with a pair of doubles, but it was not enough as Auburn dropped its series-opener with No. 11 Florida State, 7-5, on Thursday night at Plainsman Park. Luke Greinke (1-1) suffered his first loss of the year for Auburn, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits in 6.0 innings.

No. 35 Men’s Tennis Opens SEC Play This Weekend With Arkansas and LSU

The No. 35 Auburn men’s tennis team (4-3) is set to start SEC play at home this weekend with a Friday match against No. 63 Arkansas and a Sunday match against No. 18 LSU. Action in the weekend SEC series is set to begin at 1:30 p.m., Friday at the City of Auburn / Auburn University Yarbrough Tennis Center.

Auburn Equestrian Rides against Fresno State and New Mexico State This Weekend

The Auburn equestrian team travels to Fresno, Calif., to face Fresno State Saturday and New Mexico State Sunday.

Auburn University (AU or Auburn) is a state university located in Auburn, Alabama, USA.
