Auburn Wins Iron Bowl Of Soccer, 4-0; Claims Share of SEC West Crown

Auburn claimed a share of its sixth Southeastern Conference West Division Crown with its’ 4-0 win over rival Alabama on Friday night at the Auburn Soccer Complex, winning its’ fourth straight match to end the regular season 11-7-2, 7-3-1 SEC. The win cemented Auburn’s hold on the No. 3 seed in next week’s SEC Tournament in Orange Beach and gave Auburn the Iron Bowl of Soccer Trophy for the third straight season.

Volleyball Picks Up First SEC Victory In 3-0 Sweep Over Mississippi State

A balanced offensive attack along with a .296 team hitting percentage helped the Auburn volleyball team (6-18, 1-12 SEC) pick up its first SEC victory of the season Friday at the Student Activities Center against Mississippi State (6-18, 1-12 SEC). The Tigers put together their best match of the season, cruising to a 3-0 (25-13, 25-13, 25-19) win over the Bulldogs.

When the New York City Marathon begins at 7:30 am ET on Sunday, Nov. 2, at the foot of Staten Island’s Verrazano Narrows Bridge, there will be approximately 39,000 people ready to run 26. 2 miles over the ensuing three-to-four hours, and all will have a reason and a story. For John Pawlowski, who is set to start at 10 am in the Wave Start 2, the reason is simple: his daughter Mary Louise asked him to. The New York marathon will be the eighth of his life, but the story behind his venture to New York City is a new one.

The No. 11 Auburn men’s and women’s cross country teams hit postseason action with the Southeastern Conference Championship Monday at the Mississippi State Cross Country Course in Starkville, Miss. The women’s 6K will start at 10 a.m., followed by the men’s 8K at 11 a.m.

The Auburn soccer team seems to have gotten hot at the right time. Winners of its last three contests and four of its last five and now tied for first in the SEC West, Auburn will close out the regular season on Friday night at 7:30pm at the Auburn Soccer Complex when it plays host to rival Alabama in the Iron Bowl of Soccer.

The Auburn football team practiced for close to 90 minutes Thursday morning at the Athletics Complex as the Tigers wrapped up preparation for Saturday’s game at Ole Miss. The Tigers worked out in shells in brisk autumn morning temperatures.

Jenn Johnson And Allison Whitworth Named To ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District First Team

Seniors Jenn Johnson, Allison Whitworth and Kara Kasten have all been recognized for their work in the classroom as the trio of Auburn soccer players were voted to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Teams. Johnson and Whitworth were both voted First Team and will now be placed on the national ballot while Kasten was voted Second Team.
