No. 25 Tigers Shutout Mercer and Troy Saturday

The 25th-ranked Auburn women’s tennis team recorded its third and fourth shutouts of the season with 4-0 wins over both Mercer and Troy Saturday at the Yarbrough Tennis Center. Both matches were played to clinch the win. With the pair of wins, the Tigers improved to 5-4, 0-0 SEC.

Auburn Thrashes Mississippi State 76-58 To Tie Tigers’ Largest Margin of Victory In Starkville; AU Moves Into Sole Possession of Second in SEC West

Auburn’s bench outscored Mississippi State’s 36-0 en route to a 76-58 Tiger win to tie their largest margin of victory in Starkville Saturday. The Tigers swept the Bulldogs for the first time since 2001 and ended an eight game Humphrey Coliseum losing streak.

Auburn Out-Slugs No. 5 Florida State To Take Game Three Of Series, 10-9

A day after struggling to mount any offense at all, the Auburn bats came alive in a big way on Saturday as Auburn scored 10 runs on 10 hits to take game three of its four-game series with No. 5 Florida State, 10-9, at Plainsman Park. Joseph Sanders connected for a big three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth, his fourth home run in his last three games, as Auburn picked up its first win over Florida State since the 2006 season and handed Florida State (6-1) its first loss of the 2009 season.

Men Fourth, Women Ninth After Day Two Of SEC Indoor Track And Field Championships

The Auburn men’s and women’s track and field teams stand in fourth and ninth place, respectively, after Saturday’s competition at the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships. The men have scored 25 points, while the women have three points. However, most of the finals will be contested Sunday, as only five men’s and five women’s of the 34 combined events have been completed.

About Auburn University

Auburn University (AU or Auburn) is a state university located in Auburn, Alabama, USA. With more than 23,000 students and 1,200 faculty, it is the largest university in the state, and according to U.S. News & World Report, has a selectivity rating of "more selective." Auburn was chartered on February 1, 1856, as the East Alabama Male College, a private liberal arts school affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. The college was donated to the state of Alabama in 1872, when it became the state's public land-grant university under the Morrill Act and was renamed the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama. In 1892, the college became the first four-year coeducational school in the state. The college was renamed the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (API) in 1899. In 1960, its name was officially changed to Auburn University, as it had long been popularly known. Auburn is one of only 13 American universities designated as a land-grant, sea-grant, and space-grant research center.
