Grant Dayton was nearly flawless on Friday night as the redshirt-freshman allowed just two runs in six innings as Auburn won the opening game of a three-game set at Arkansas on Friday night, 5-2. The win was the third straight Friday night win for Auburn and its’ first on a Friday night in Fayetteville since the 2000 season.

Senior Jacob Dunkleberger won the hammer throw with a nation-best mark on Friday to start competition at the Tiger Track Classic. The men’s hammer throw was the only event contested during the opening day, as the women’s hammer was delayed until 10 a.m. Saturday due to weather and the rest of the meet was already scheduled to take place on Saturday.
